It has been confirmed that Avril Lavigne and The Jonas Brothers are touring together in July. See the dates below.

It would be really odd because they’re both really great singers/band. So it would be some trouble to chose who is opening for whom. I have a feeling that it would be Avril to open for the JB, because they are going to perform in New York City. On the current The Best Damn Tour Dates, you can see that Avril would be performing at New York in April 11 and Ohio in March 26, but again, on the JB tour dates, the venues repeat. This might be mainly for JB’s tour dates, but let’s keep our fingers crossed, let’s hope it’s a continuation of The Best Damn Tour.

More energy and her biggest stage show ever is what Avril Lavigne is promising on her upcoming two-month-long “The Best Damn Tour,” which kicks off March 5 in Victoria, Canada.

“My inspiration for this record, a lot of it came from the live show and knowing what kind of songs I wanted to play live,” Lavigne told reporters Feb. 11 during a teleconference. “I wanted to play fast, fun songs. I love playing songs like ‘Sk8er Boi‘ onstage because the crowd just reacts, and I love it when everyone is freaking out and jumping.“

“My last record, ‘Under My Skin,’ was pretty mid-tempo and darker, so every song was like bringing down the audience,” she continued. “So I was just wanted to rock, which is why I made a very up-tempo record.”

Buoyed by the success of “The Best Damn Thing,” which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and also yielded the No. 1 hit single “Girlfriend,” Lavigne is planning a large stage show that even includes dancers and a cover of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation.”

“The show is going to be very upbeat and the production will be bigger in the sense of dancers during a couple of songs, LED screens, a pink-sparkled drum kit and flags,” Lavigne says. “Over time, I’ve sort of learned how I need to be on stage, and I’m more confident. It’s just more dynamic, brighter and more colorful. I’m excited about it because I’ve been working on the show for a very long time now. And it’s just going to be really fun to finally go play.” Lavigne is also working on other business interests, including a fragrance and clothing line. “The clothing line is something I wanted to do for about three years,” she reported. “A lot of times people do licensing deals, and I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to own the company and really design and be creative.

“I’m excited because I love clothes, and I love anything visual,” she added. “I look at it as something new to put my energy into and take a little break, even though I will still be writing. I’ll never stop.”

Avril Lavigne’s North American tour continues to grow ahead of its March launch.

The trek, which kicks off March 5 in Victoria, British Columbia, is set to stop by arenas all over the US and Canada into May. It marks Lavigne’s first outing to support last April’s “The Best Damn Thing.”

Since last check, dates have been added in Kingston, Ontario; Tampa and West Palm Beach, FL; Woodlands, TX; San Jose, CA; Atlanta; and Seattle. Special guests Boys Like Girls will support. Details are listed below.

The Canadian-born punk-pop princess has assembled a new band for the world tour, and she’ll include choreographed dancing for the first time, according to a statement.

Avril Lavigne’s smash debut album was called Let Go - and let go is exactly what local fans have to do if they think they’re getting tickets to her first concert in Kingston.

Tickets to Lavigne’s April 8 show at the Kingston Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre went on sale Monday at 10 a.m.

By noon, all 5,300 tickets were gone.

There was a frenzy for the $59.50 and $39.50 tickets starting at 10 a.m.

At 10:05 a.m., the online site for buying tickets - www.kingstonrsec.com - was already telling hopeful buyers that there were no more seats available.

During the next hour, the site would say one or two seats were available, and then no seats at all, and so the morning went.

Richard Adams, who works in the publicity department at Nettwerk, Lavigne’s Vancouver-based management company, told the Whig-Standard yesterday that tickets officially sold out at noon.

After tickets sold out, people who tried to buy tickets online got the message: “The ticketing system currently indicates that no seats are available for this performance. This performance may not yet be on sale, or may be sold-out. Please try at a later time or contact customer service.”

Those who were lucky to buy tickets would have spent almost $100 for a pair of tickets. A pair of $39.50 tickets also has $17.20 in convenience and facility fees tacked on, plus a $3.50 order processing charge, for a total of $99.70.

Lavigne’s concert in Kingston is her first local show since she burst onto the music scene with her album Let Go in 2002. That album produced the mega-hits Complicated and Sk8erboi.

She has also released 2004’s Under My Skin and last year’s The Best Damn Thing, which spawned the No. 1 hit Girlfriend.

Hardcore Lavigne fans who are part of her fan club had the opportunity to buy tickets to her Best Damn Tour show for 10 days before the tickets went on sale to the general public.

Doors to her show open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 with opening act Boys Like Girls.

Her tour starts March 5 in Victoria, B.C., and wraps up July 9 in Vienna, Austria.
